Seiko Brown Quadrant
Japan, 1976.
A gold-plated cushion case, soft at every edge.
The dial is cut into four quarters, each brushed in its own direction.
Two catch the light in soft brown two hold it in deep cocoa.
Turn your wrist, and they trade places.
Four black Roman numerals, two slim hands, nothing more.
The lugs open like small gold frames, as if sculpted around the strap.
Inside, a hand-wound Seiko calibre, freshly serviced.
Four quarters of light, never the same twice.

Condition notes
Honest traces of a life well worn.
Several micro-scratches on the crystal, including a slightly longer one near 12 o'clock and very slight impact between 10 and eleven o'clock. Invisible from most angles, with no impact on the dial's legibility.
Fine surface marks on the polished case, consistent with its age.
The dial is clean and well preserved.
Fifty years on, still in good shape.
